Dina Gusovsky and Ron Paul on Israel/Gaza

I’ve noticed that the search term for my friend, Dina, brings in visitors so I’m sure she won’t mind me using her name some more–mutual promotion, I guess. Dina Gusovsky of Russia Today interviewed Ron Paul on the Israel/Gaza conflict recently. I’ve certainly made my point clear on this subject. Dina does a great job and Ron Paul explains the position of Liberty superbly.

She’s a great journalist, and a pretty face. Plus this video has Ron Paul, talking about Israel with a stance we rarely hear. Great video.

Tommy Leung: your stance on Israel is very misguided. Let me ask you: if you lived in a country the size of New Jersey and you had a neighboring entity lobbing rockets into your country on a regular basis, wouldn’t you at some point say “enough is enough” and defend yourself by all means necessary?

This is EXACTLY what’s going on in Israel. Terrorist attacks on public buses, SCHOOL buses, sidewalk cafes, and the list goes on and on, have been taking place for YEARS and I think Israel has shown remarkable RESTRAINT, yes RESTRAINT, considering what they’ve had to deal with.

Recently, they had to deal with that flotilla incident where the “relief supplies” being brought into Gaza contained a large cache of weapons. Clearly, Israel was right to defend itself in that situation, and they were chastized anyway, even though their actions were done to minimize injuries to those on board the boat and ended up threatening the well-being of the Israelis. Maybe they should have just blown that flotilla up instead!

When the leaders of the neighboring territory have stated in no uncertain terms that their goal is the complete destruction of your country (go look up what’s been said by Hamas and Fatah), then you certainly have the right to defend yourself from acts of war. You clearly do NOT have a grasp on the situation over there, or you don’t have a brain, one or the other, because there is no logical explanation for your stance on this issue.

I’m not going to argue this but, I am also against the United States bombing a country or region of people for the acts of a few terrorists. I am not defending acts of terrorism by any side but, being attacked does not give you the right to go all over the place and bomb innocent people because someone in your country was killed. This isn’t even an eye for an eye, it’s an eye for any other eye that may be similar.

My stance is very logical. You just don’t happen to see it. And you are taking the situation from a specific point in time and ignoring all the things Israel and the United States have done there so this isn’t imagine you’re in NJ and some folks just randomly bomb you. This whole conflict is a reaction to actions of the past. To ignore that is to not understand what’s happening.
